Assassin's Creed Odyssey (Part 16)
The Cult of Kosmos in this session begins to reveal how far its membership extends into Greek civic life — the archons, the generals, the religious figures, the philosophers. The masks are both literal and metaphorical, the physical anonymity of the cult meetings corresponding to the social performance of legitimacy that each member maintains in their public life. They hide because the truth of what they are doing — manipulating the war, managing the oracle, shaping Greek history for the Isu's old agenda — is incompatible with any identity that the Greek world would allow to persist.
Truth as lethal to the Cult is also truth as lethal to the Greek political structure they have infected. Kassandra unmasking them is not just assassination. It is the systematic exposure of an institution that could not survive being seen clearly.
