Death Stranding 2 (Part 1)

Sam Porter Bridges came back. The first game ended with him choosing connection over isolation, choosing the network over the beach, choosing to remain in the world rather than withdraw from it. That choice is the thing this session is already interrogating. We should not have connected is not a regret β€” it is a premonition, the foreknowledge of someone who has seen what connection costs and is about to pay again.

The second Death Stranding begins with the world in a worse state than Sam left it, which means the connection he built did not hold, or held in ways he did not intend, or produced consequences that the first game's hopeful ending did not account for. He is back on the road. The cargo is different. The weight is the same.
