Death Stranding 2 (Part 4)

The action sequences of Death Stranding 2 are built on the same philosophy as the traversal — momentum is survival, hesitation is death, the body in motion is harder to stop than the body at rest. Pull the rope or cut it, but make the choice and commit. The noose is every impossible situation the game presents where both options have costs and waiting is the only option that guarantees the worst outcome.

The epigram is Sam talking to himself, or to Lou, or to anyone listening. It has the cadence of something said many times before, a reminder worn smooth by repetition. He has been in situations requiring this choice since the first game. He has not always chosen correctly. The hesitation he is warning against is the hesitation of someone who knows what choosing costs.
