The Hellmouth is Destiny's most efficiently atmospheric location — the Hive's wound in the lunar surface, the deep spaces where the Sword Logic operates without the need to maintain the performance of ordinary existence. The darkness that stirs is Phogoth, the Untamed — a Hive ogre summoned as part of a ritual the fireteam interrupts. Interrupting Hive rituals is the Guardian's most consistent activity and the one that has the most unclear consequences: the ritual does not stop, it is simply delayed by the bodies placed in front of it.
