Savathûn's Throne World is Destiny's most formally ambitious expansion, the game finally engaging seriously with its own theology by giving the antagonist the same tools as the protagonist. The Witch Queen has stolen the Light. Her Lucent Brood fight exactly as Guardians fight, revive when killed, coordinate as a fireteam. The Ghost revives the body and cannot revive the choices — the choices that made this expansion necessary, the decisions inside Forsaken and Beyond Light that led to a world where Savathûn had the leverage to do what she did.
