Ghost of Tsushima (Part 9)

Castle Kaneda falls. The liberation costs more than Jin expected, which is consistent β€” every victory in Ghost of Tsushima costs more than expected, because the game is honest about what liberation actually requires. Honor is present in the aftermath, in how Jin treats the survivors, in whether the victory is clean or whether it becomes something else in the telling.

The repetition in the epigram is the point. It is not a declaration made once at a ceremony. It is a decision remade under pressure, in the field, when the easier choice is available and the honorable one requires something the body doesn't want to give. Jin makes this choice consistently. The game tracks what that consistency costs him.
