Injustice 2 (Part 1)

Superman in the Phantom Zone β€” the Regime defeated, Brainiac arriving, the world needing its most powerful hero at precisely the moment that hero is imprisoned for what he became. Injustice 2 is built around the irony of this: the man who wanted peace badly enough to become a tyrant is now unavailable to defend what remains. Batman, who never wanted the Regime and has spent the entire series arguing against it, is now trying to hold together the civilization that Superman's peace destroyed in the process of constructing it.

The session establishes the new threat and the fractured alliance β€” the heroes who stopped Superman now having to decide whether to trust him again when Brainiac makes the alternative worse. He wanted peace is both the indictment and the explanation. The war was always in service of the peace, even when the war became the thing.
