LIVE: Rise Of The Tomb Raider
Syria, Siberia, the Soviet Installation — the game's opening act compressed into a single live session, Lara moving through the first major environments as someone who has recently survived something she cannot yet articulate. The legends buried and best left that way are both the mythological objects the game is built around — the Divine Source, the Prophet's tomb — and the legend Lara herself is building, the specific danger of becoming the person the world will eventually make of her. Some things are buried because their excavation costs more than their discovery is worth. The session is Lara not yet understanding this.
