The training is genuine within the fiction: Kuma has been prepared by the same person who prepared the human fighters, which means the bear is dangerous in ways that the other characters cannot intuit from looking at a bear. Your first problem is not assessing the risk correctly. Tekken's commitment to Kuma is the game's commitment to not taking itself more seriously than it takes bears.
