Marshall Law is Tekken's Bruce Lee archetype and the series' most consistent source of comic dignity — the martial arts master who runs a restaurant, fights for money, talks too much, and is nonetheless genuinely dangerous. The warm-up yell is the game acknowledging that Law's persona includes the performance of confidence that sometimes exceeds the available evidence, and that this is part of why he works. The yell and the kick are not separable.
