Assassin's Creed: Origins (Part 8)

The ending. Khemu's death as the education that the Medjay training never provided β€” the specific knowledge of what it costs to lose the thing you were protecting, what it does to you, what it demands from you in the aftermath. The blade is the instrument of power and protection. Loss is the curriculum that teaches the blade's limits.

What the Hidden Ones will become is the institutionalization of this lesson: the blade in service of preventing loss, the protection of the innocent as mission rather than incidental consequence, the grief of Bayek and Aya translated into a purpose that can outlast them both. The Brotherhood is built from what the blade could not do.
