The middle episodes of the story mode — the escalation from family conflict to global catastrophe, the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation at war, Jin's plan unfolding and failing and being revised, Heihachi's survival and counter-move. Everyone having a plan is Tekken 7's structural joke: every character in the Mishima conflict has a plan that made sense before they encountered the other characters' plans. The bell ringing is the contact, the moment where the plans meet each other and dissolve into the specific chaos of the thing itself.

The seven episodes cover the narrative's acceleration — the world war that Jin provoked to awaken Azazel, the confrontation that left him in a coma, the power vacuum that Heihachi is using. The plans kept meeting bells.
