Jin's choice — the game's resolution of the series' central question about whether the Mishima bloodline produces people or weapons, whether the training and the curse and the history can be overcome by something the training did not intend. He was made to destroy, by Heihachi and by fate and by the Devil Gene. The choice is the game's argument against determinism: the capacity for something beyond destruction was always present, and this session is it being exercised.

The finale is Tekken 8 at its most operatic — the scale, the transformation sequences, the specific grandeur that the series reserves for its endings. Jin defeating Kazuya is not the resolution of the Mishima saga so much as its redirection, the violence continuing in a form that has something to protect rather than only to eliminate.
