The underground library is Uncharted 3's most visually striking environment — the hidden space beneath London that the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dragon built and maintained, the specific texture of a secret kept inside ordinary architecture. Nate and Sully tracing the car is the partnership at its most comfortable — two people who have been doing this together long enough that the method does not require discussion. The light is where the evidence is. They follow it.

Drake's Deception is the series' meditation on the Nate-Sully relationship, and the underground library is the first space where the game places them inside something that predates their partnership, something that has been holding its secrets longer than either of them has been alive.
