The Order has corrupted the priests the way it has corrupted everything else, and the temples are as much crime scene as sanctuary.

The Medjay tradition Bayek represents was itself a form of sacred justice — the guardians of the peace, the protectors of the desert routes. What he is doing now is the Medjay function applied to a wound the Medjay system was not designed to address.
