Ghost of Yōtei (Part 3)
The ghost identity forms in this session — the specific myth Atsu is building around herself in Ezo, the fear that travels faster than she does. Ghost of Yotei inherits the ghost mythology from Tsushima and reconstructs it for a different protagonist: where Jin's ghost emerged reluctantly, from a man losing something, Atsu's ghost is deliberately constructed, a tool she is wielding rather than a transformation she is suffering.
North of mercy is the specific geography of the game's moral register — the cold that does not negotiate, the snow that does not care, the mountains that hold no position on what happens in their shadow. Atsu became the storm in this environment, which means she learned the environment's indifference and made it her own. The mercy that was left behind is not described. It is simply named as the place she is north of.
